Spectacular New Three-Color Image of the Small Magellanic Cloud

The image is a 3 x 3 degree 3-color mosaic of the Small Magellanic Cloud composed of images from the Two-Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS) in the J band, the Digitized Sky Surveys in the B-band (blue) and the Spitzer Space Telescope at 24 um (pink). The mosaic was computed  with Montage, funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Earth Science Technology Office, Computation Technologies Project, under Cooperative Agreement Number NCC5-626 between NASA and the California Institute of Technology.
